The new edifice of Warszawa Zachodnia station will be located from Aleje Jerozolimskie, thanks to which people going from Ochota, Włochów and Mokotów will have an easy access to it. This solution is supposed to decrease the traffic which so far has been concentrated near the existing station building and in the area of ticket office in the tunnels at platforms.
The station will be adjusted to the needs of disabled people. There will be i.a. lowered table tops at cash desks, leading paths for the blind and partially sighted, parking places as well as elevators and escalators. The travelers will enjoy 6 cash posts, ticket machines, baggage lockers and wide commercial and service offer. Thanks to this investment, the travelers and inhabitants of Warsaw will gain a new station which thus is going to increase the passenger area in Warszawa Zachodnia – says Jarosław Bator, member of the board in PKP S.A. – The new station will be finished in the following year. This modern structure will constitute the first element of the arising interchange in this part of Warsaw.
The important element of the investment is revitalization of environment, including extension of an existing bike path and development of Aleje Jerozolimskie crossing as well as Lt Col M. Sokołowski „Grzymała” Street. HB Reavis has already renovated the fragment of the underpass at Warszawa Zachodnia station – repair works involved development of a reinforced concrete construction, exchange of paneling and realization of a ramp. In the future, wall lining and ceilings will be also performed within this project and the replacement of lighting as well as visual information installed in the tunnel will be held.
Along with the building of Warszawa Zachodnia station, the works on realization of West Station office complex have started. Within this project, 13-tier buildings with the total rental area of 67 000 sq. m will be realized. The perfect location of West Station complex in the close neighborhood of Warszawa Zachodnia station, near the bus station and numerous depots, will provide to future tenants an excellent communicational connection not only with all districts of Warsaw but also with other cities in Poland – believes Stanislav Frnka, chairman of the board in HB Reavis Poland.
Within the office complex, a 3-level underground garage will be realized and the inhabitants of Warsaw as well as travelers will benefit 130 paid public parking places.
West Station offices will be powered only by energy from renewable sources. HB Reavis is going to certify them in BREEAM system on Excellent level.
FS&P ARCUS Sp. z o.o. company is responsible for architectural conception of the station and office complex. The first stage of the investment will be finished in the IV quarter of 2016, and the second one – in the I half-year of 2018. In the group of first tenants of the structure there will be i.a. partnerships owned by PKP – PKP S.A. group, PKP Informatyka and PKP Intercity.
