The conference is the only official one that touches upon the subject matter of sustainable construction. Organized by Polish Green Council, card-carrying member of World Green Building Council, the meeting will be held on October 9-10 in Copernicus Science Center.
The symposium will be preceded by something very new on the market, a training authorized by US GBS– LEED BD+C 301 – discussing the ways of group working over the projects certified by LEED.
The meeting will be joined by, among others, Alfonso Ponce (MRICS, Deliotte Real Estate Advisory France, UNEP-SBCI, LEED Steering Committee), Darcy Nicolle (Government Affairs Europe in United Technologies Corporation), Eric G. Flaxman (Principal Secretary and President of General Service Office in U.S. Embassy in Warsaw). Main talker of the conference is Andrew Bowerbank (currently, a member of board of Green Municipal Fund in Canada), who is regarded as the international authority of sustainable construction.
What is scheduled apart from the presentations is panel discussions for such topics as: Green materials as the best solutions, Systems of multi-criterion valuation of buildings as a tool of transforming the market, Business dimension of sustainable housing construction. Among the participants of the panels, there will be the specialists from such companies as: Skanska, Van Heyden Group, Saint Gobain, BorgWarner Turbo Systems Poland, United Technologies Corporation, UBM Polska, Grontmij, KKPW, or Kuryłowicz & Associates.
The second day of the conference will be devoted to practical approach to sustainable construction. The participants will be able to take part in workshops sessions, presentations and case-studies concerning LEED-NC, LEED-CS, LEED-CI, BREEAM International, BREEAM in Use, marketing, finances, PR, CSR or green technologies. LEED 101 training is also scheduled.
