On 9th March this year Chairman of the Board of Krakow Nowa Huta Przyszłości SA Artur Paszko and Chairman of Jagiellonian Center of Innovation Sp. z o.o. Paweł Błachno signed a letter of intent concerning cooperation within the project called Krakow – Nowa Huta Przyszłości. The aim of this enterprise is to create technical research infrastructure Life Science Park II and prepare space intended for infrastructural investments (greenfield) of companies operating in the sector of life science.
Krakow Nowa Huta Przyszłości SA will gain and entrust armed area to Jagiellonian Center of Innovation Sp. z o.o., on which Life Science Park II will be realized as a target. According to the plans, Krakow Nowa Huta Przyszłości SA will transfer the area amounting to at least 2ha with a possibility of its extending to 20 ha to its partner within the realization of the first stage by the end of 2016. Jagiellonian Center of Innovation Sp. z o.o., in turn, will aim at creation of laboratory, office and conference research as well as social infrastructure of Life Science Park, which will be then commercialized. New buildings may be realized within this investment in the next few years, the total laboratory and office area of which will amount to about 20 000 sq. m.
The effect of realized activities will be development of Cracow Nowa Huta district and creation of new working places. The project Krakow – Nowa Huta Przyszłości is currently one of the most important projects for Krakow as well as Małopolskie Voivodship and Life Science Park II is supposed to be its part. We have ambitious plans and good causes, the most important of which are of course revitalization of post-industrial areas on an unusual scale and creation of new working places. Our decision about choosing Jagiellonian Center of Innovation as a partner to life science investments was a natural choice. JCI – due to its business activity – has unique knowledge and experience from construction and management of such infrastructure – Artur Paszko, Chairman of the Board of Krakow Nowa Huta Przyszłości SA, says.
We are open to additional location and we are glad about the perspective of cooperation with the City and Voivodship, especially at such a spectacular enterprise. If everything is to be conducted in accordance with the schedule, we will start actions aimed at gaining potential partners and tenants of Life Science Park II this year. I invite companies from the life science industry to report progress of this investment – Paweł Błachno, Chairman of Jagiellonian Center of Innovation Sp. z o.o., says. We are also cautious. Undoubtedly, we would like to repeat the success of Life Science Park at university campus, however, in the first place we will look matter-of-factly at possibilities offered by the market – Błachno adds.
Life Science Park II will be created on the area of Science and Technology Park Branice, one of the investments realized within the project called Krakow – Nowa Huta Przyszłości.
