Skanska Property Poland built a cornerstone into the second office structure in Cracow – Axis office – on 13th October this year. The representatives of local authorities as well as the fund which purchased the Axis building, architectural studio, main tenant and Skanska company participated in the ceremony. The Axis building is responsible for the increasing demand among investors for modern and sustainable office space – says Mariusz Krzak, regional chairman, Skanska Property Poland.
Works at realization of the project started in November last year and the commission is planned on the fourth quarter of 2016. At present, the building of the first floor of the structure is being realized. Axis will be composed of nine aboveground and three undeground tiers. It is going to offer 20 000 sq. m of modern office area class A. All tenants of the office will be able to benefit from 173 parking places, changing-room with showers for bicyclists and points for charging electric cars.
The structure's project envisages development of the area around the investment in reference to features of a traditional public passage. An area of the main hall was developed in the project. It is connected with two entrance squares: from east, from Przy Rondzie Street, from west as well as from Powstanie Warszawskie Avenue – says Artur Jasiński, Artur Jasiński i Wspólnicy architectural studio. The public hall with the height of two tiers will be surrounded with shops and service premises. One of the building's attractions will be a cafe located in a glazed pavilon in the neighborhood of the Eile Square – adds Jasiński.
Axis is currently being realized in close proximity to Rondo Mogilskiego, one of the biggest communicational hubs in Cracow. The investment is being realized in accordance with the Workplaces by Skanska philosophy which envisages creation of friendly and inspiring work places. The optimal work environment, confirmed by the LEED pre-certification at the Gold level, and elegant architecture in the Scandinavian style, will be a confirmation of high quality of the investment and our care about comfort of all employees – says Mariusz Krzak, regional chairman of Skanska Property Poland.
It is worth mentioning that the structure was rented by ABB in 50 per cent one year before the building's completion. Moreover, ca. 1000 experts from IT in ABB will be working in the Cracow office.
