The construction works began at the construction site of OVO Wrocław. Within two years, a complex of luxury apartments, offices and five-star Hilton hotel will be built here. The general contractor is a consortium whose leader is the company Eiffage Construction Poland S.A.
The cleaning on the area of 7614 sq. m on Podwale Street 82-91 began a few days ago. General contractor organises the construction camp, communication at the construction site and plans alternative transport routes around the investment. Within the frames of the first construction works, the utilities have to be connected, the containers have to be placed, the fence has to be moved and the slurry wall has to be strengthened. Excavators and tipper lorries are to appear on the plot of land at the end of April. Then the works on the deepening of the excavation will start. There are still 11 000 cubic metres of soil to be disposed of. But the archaeological works are already done, so there will be no surprises. We work in the design&build system, which means we have the construction design and the design for tender, and now the task of the company Eiffage is to prepare the detailed design, explains Marcin Kaznowski, project manager in OVO Wrocław.
The first concrete works are scheduled for May, whereas the foundations should be ready at the turn of June and July. Over 700 people will work simultaneously at the construction site.
OVO Wrocław will be built near Poczta Główna and Park Słowackiego and will have 9 floors (including 2 underground). The building will be 25 metres high. The project was designed by the studio Gottesman-Szmelcman Architecture. The building will include apartments, offices, commercial areas, fitness centre and five-star hotel DoubleTree by Hilton.
The investment is characterized by original design, the shape inspired by the architectural trend called blobitecture. The façade of the building will be made of Corian, which will give it a streamlined form.
When we were working on the project, there appeared a vision of creating a place which will mirror the dynamic and multi-cultural character of Wrocław, and which will introduce a new quality in the city, says Asaf Gottesman, one of the designers of OVO Wrocław. OVO will become one of the symbols of Wroclaw, but it will be a living symbol, attracting people with its openness. It will be a place of meeting and interaction, both business and social ones, he sums up.
The investor of OVO Wrocław is the company Wings Properties Sp. z o.o., which is a part of the developer group Star Group Poland. The cost of the investment amounts to 260 million zloty. Over 100 million was provided by the investor, whereas the rest was financed by the loan given by the Alior Bank.
