In a plane crash of two polish light aircraft on Monday, which took place in Spain, the polish famous architect Stefan Kuryłowicz died. As the „Gazeta Wyborcza” states, among the victims there was also Jacek Syropolski, Kurylowicz co-worker and two not identified people.
Planes crashed around Asturias in Castrillon, in the north Spain.
The reason of that accident was probably connected with bad atmosphere conditions which limited the visibility. There was not yes confirmed if the light aircrafts crashed to each other.
Stefan Kuryłowicz was polish architect, in 1972 he graduated from Politechnika Warszawska, where he worked as a lecturer. He was co-founder of architectural office, currently under name Autorska Pracownia Architektury Kuryłowicz & Associates. He was the author of many architectural projects, for example PLL LOT office and subway station at Gdanski station in Warsaw or Hilton hotel in Gdansk. He was honored many times, in 2003 he received the Honor Price SARP, and in 2009 - the price from the culture minister. He had 62 years.
