Finnish company from chemistry sector, that is Kemira, will open in Gdańsk its business service centre.

Kemira decided to rent 2600 sq. m of space in Gdańsk office complex Alchemia. The company has taken two floors of one of the towers. The deal has been signed for seven years.

I am very happy that the advantages of Alchemia have been appreciated by a company with such high standards as Kemira. The complex is currently rented in 50 percent and next negotiations processes reached their final phase. We believe that by the time Alchemia is officially put into operation, it will be rented in about 70 percent – says Sławomir Gajewski, Head of Board of Torus, the developer of Alchemia.

Kermia operates on the global chemical market and is noted for NASDAQ OMX. In total it employs over 5000 workers and its yearly sales exceed two billion Euros. Several weeks ago, the company has opened business services centre in Gdańsk where over 200 specialists from various sectors, such as logistics, sales service, IT or finances are employed. In Alchemia, on 8th an 9th floors of office tower Aurum, the proper seat of the company will be moved. The opening of the new office will take place in first weeks of 2014.

Alchemia not only fully meets our requirements, but also represents Kemira's philosophy concerning the way we work. The high quality of the offered space along with LEED certificate the building has correspond with our view on the issues of ecology and the practicality of the building. These factors were of high importance to us – comments Arkadiusz Rochowczyk, executive director in Kemira. The choice of a suitable place, as well as its interesting and effective arrangement by high class specialists, is one of the most important elements of our success. The concept of future offices as well as an accessibility of places giving the workers a possibility to exercise, all provided by Alchemia, already raises the interest of our employees – he adds.

New seat of the company was chosen in a three-stage process which began in January 2013. The last stage of negotiations lasted three months – since the beginning of July till the end of September. The deal allows Kemira to rent more space in the future. Cushman & Wakefield was the company's advisor during the negotiations.

In the first half of 2013 the Tricity took second place in Poland on the list of cities which created the biggest amount of modern office space, right after Warsaw. Thanks to that, the level of supply has exceeded 410 000 msq and by the end of the year will increase even further. Another projects, such as Alchemia complex, are a proof of development of office market in Tricity – says Krzysztof Misiak, Associate, Head of Regional Markets Section, Office Space Department in Cushman & Wakefield.
