BSS (Business Service Sector) is not only one of the most quickly developing markets but also an element of domestic economy which provides the greatest number of work places. According to the report of the Polish Information and Foreign Investment Agency (PAIiIZ) “Report of BSS in Poland 2016”, 193 thousand countrymen have already been hired in 852 BSS centers. Poland became a crucial player of BBS on the global scale – comments the new Chairman of PAIiIZ Bartłomiej Pawlak. We are an equal partner for international concerns in this industry. Everything developed in Poland is often continued on the international market – adds Pawlak.
Chairman of Foreign Investments Department and Leader of a team responsible for preparation of the report – Iwona Chojnowska-Haponik – emphasizes that high class personnel is the source of dynamic increase of the market of modern services for business on the domestic market. It is thanks to exceptional people – 90 per cent of them are highly educated. No one brings to Poland simple processes. Poles are engaged in ambitious international projects – says Iwona Chojnowska-Haponik.
The average employment in the company operating in BSS in Poland amounts to 227 people. Such centers offer services in 40 languages – also the less popular ones such as Hebrew, Thai, Korean, Catalan, Kazakh and Urdu. Except for high qualifications and education, it is the knowledge of languages what makes Poland competitive as a place of locating business support services. It can be said that these are times of employee's market in BSS, and even – student's market. BSS companies recruit their future employees, especially to IT centers, out of students on the second and third year of studies – says Chairman of Foreign Investments Department.
The most popular process offered by BSS centers in Poland is development of software (in 452 centers). The second place belongs to management of applications/IT helpdesk (in 208 centers), whereas the third place – to finances and accounts (in 205 centers). We have 268 business support centers with Polish capital which realize very ambitious processes – points out Iwona Chojnowska-Haponik. Interestingly, domestic companies constitute 31 per cent of all BSS centers in Poland, which means that they have the highest percentage of the market. The other places are occupied by American (206), German (62), British (61) and French (53) centers.
BSS centers are situated in 27 cities. The vast majority of them is located in Warsaw (160), Cracow (119) and Tricity (109). The biggest employment in these centers is recorded by the capital of Little Poland, where 44.5 people work in BSS. According to the report of PAIiIZ, the location preferences of companies from this industry are changing. The same situation occurs in the case of cities which arouse interest among entrepreneurs. The rising stars on the BSS market are Bydgoszcz, Toruń, Rzeszów, Szczecin, Lublin, Bielsko-Biała, Kielce and Olsztyn.
