Due to commission of a new part of a passenger terminal, all airport operations – incoming and outcoming flights – are serviced in one building. In the existing infrastructure (western part), there are stands for ticket and luggage check-ins as well as VIP Lounge. In the newly built part of the structure (eastern part), in turn, security controls and all incoming as well as outcoming flights are serviced. Thanks to the investment, the usable area of the terminal was increased by over 55 thousand sq. m.
The investment was realized within the "Cracow Airport 2015" project, which envisages alternation of the internal communicational structure, extension of the aircraft parking apron, modernization of the ground run and building of a hotel.
The modernization was also conducted at the Kraków Główny – Kraków Lotnisko railway route. Therefore, the travel from the city center to the new terminal will take only 18 minutes. Moreover, 12 km of a railway line were built and rebuilt as well as three new stations were launched: Kraków Młynówka, Kraków Zakliki and Kraków Olszanica within this new investment.
