Lumen and Skylight, office blocks belonging to Złote Tarasy complex, received ecological certificates BREEAM In-Use International with the assessment Very Good.
BREEAM system is based on many criteria of assessing a building, which include: energy and water consumption, carbon dioxide emission, use of environmentally-friendly solutions and materials, health and comfort of the employees and issues related to the management of the building.
BREEAM In-Use International certificates, granted to Lumen and Skylight, are the proof of our involvement both in implementing ecological projects, as well as continuous improvement of existing buildings. Concern for the natural environment, as well as for comfort and health of people working in our buildings is one of the most important elements of organisational culture and development strategy of our company, said Arnaud Burlin, Managing Director in Central Europe, Unibail-Rodamco.
In the office blocks, traditional lighting was replaced with LED, in order to reduce energy consumption. Other “green” solutions include the installation of balancing pond and implementing BMS system to control the work of machines in order to reduce water and energy consumption. The electricity provided to the buildings in derived in 100% from renewable energy sources (certified by Polish Association for Energy Certification). In the office blocks, there are also charging stations for electrical vehicles, as well as changing rooms and showers for cyclists. The buildings received the assessment Excellent in the “Building Management” category and Very Good in the “Asset” category.
