The estimated cost of the investment equals 6,2 billion PLN net (7,6 billion with tax). It will be completed until the middle of March 2015. Skanska is about to construct a laboratory building, which will be used by the companies associated with biotechnology, organic chemistry, automatics, robotics and mechatronics.
Science and Technology Park is rising near Wrocławska street in Opole. It was established by the President of Opole in 2012 and its only shareholder is the Municipality of Opole.
The laboratory and experimental building will be the Park’s first stage, which is to be constructed in “design and construct” system. It means that first we will make a project of the laboratory, which can take us 60 days after signing a contract – explains Barbara Gieruś – Świerczyńska, Project Manager, Skanska – Next, we will obtain all the permits that are necessary to begin construction and then we will start it.
Architectural project was prepared in ARCH-STUDIO Sp. z o.o. office. It will consist of e.g. production halls and laboratory rooms of 1600 sqm of joint area. We will construct a technological hall with a possibility of dividing it into 4 independent modules, as well as laboratory and office rooms. Technological halls, 9 meters high, will be equipped with an overhead crane – explains Barbara Gieruś–Świerczyńska.
The building with be facilitated with innovative technological solutions, broadband Internet, as well as a system of full mechanical ventilation and air conditioning. The building will be adapted to the needs of the disabled and facilitated with outside parking lot for trucks – says Barbara Gieruś – Świerczyńska.
Skanska is also about to construct the necessary exterior infrastructure of the building (terminals and networks) around the building. The project also includes parking lot, driveway, vehicle maneuver area, walkways, lightening and elements of small architecture.
As the part of first stage of the investment, apart from the laboratory and experimental building, business incubator will also rise. The aim of Science and Technology Park in Opole is to run the activities in aid of the development of Opole region by creating favorable conditions for business development, with a particular emphasis on high technologies sector. Eventually, the complex is supposed to consist of five buildings.
