BiznesHUB Convention Centre (BHCC) is located at 29 Łąkowa Street in Łódź. Even prior to the official opening, two of the best known Łódź festivals – Fotofestiwal and Good Taste Festival [Festiwal Dobrego Smaku] – will take place here.
Convention Centre is a result of combining the first hotel DoubleTree by Hilton in Poland with former halls of Wytwórnia Filmów Fabularnych [Feature Films Studio] in Łódź. In BHCC's vicinity there is MediaHUB office building, which offers a modern office space of 4 000 m2, adjusted especially to the needs of companies from IT sector.
BHCC offers the convention and exhibition space of more than 4 500 m2. BiznesHUB provides room for organising either a congress, big conference or even a company event, with an evening party – says Dominik Heftowicz from TOYA Group, BHCC's investor. The biggest hall available can hold 1 000 people.
It is worth to pay attention to location's film character. Hotel's elevation is decorated by a film frame from Zakazane Piosenki [Forbidden Songs], the first post-war film shot in Łódź. The lobby is full of film articles, and its central part are the stairs, whose desing was inspired by the famous "winding" stairs of the former Filmówka. Entries to hotel rooms are framed by motifs from 28 Polish films, made in Łódź. There is also a 3D Cinema Wytwórnia in the building.
The complex is to be open on the turn of June and July 2013. Prior to this event, two Łódź festivals will be held on the complex area. Wytwórnia concert club was chosen for their location.
Fotofestiwal is a big international art event. We are glad that a part of our event will take place in BiznesHUB's halls. It is a perfect place for cultural events. Multifunctional, serving not only culture, but also business. Since many years musical events, which actually are closely related to films, have been organised in Wytwórnia. Now the missing links – a hotel and meeting place – are being created – says Krzysztof Candrowicz, the manager of Fotofestiwal.
Also Good Taste Fetival will be held at 29 Łąkowa Street. Our event is organised already for the 10th time. Apart from the standard in the form of residents of Łódź visiting and assessing restaurants in the city, we have also organised Cinema and School of Good Taste. Among others these parts of the festival will take place in BiznesHUB. It is really good that such place is being created. We were short of a centre for festivals, and culture and business events in Łódź – says Barbara Sokołowska-Urbańczyk, the author and organiser of the festival.
In the months to come the following events will also be held in BHCC: the Polish nationwide final of The Look of the Year's models camp, a part of Łódź Art Design festival and a convention of Polish Chamber of Electronic Communication.
