The aim of this investment project is to construct a multifunctional complex comprising office and residential space as well as cultural and recreational facilities. It is going to occupy 360 acres, offering ca. 90,000 sq m. The investor is SwedeCenter, a real estate investment and development company within the Inter IKEA Group.
The first phase of Gdynia Waterfront will consist of an office block and the Marriott Courtyard hotel, situated between the Gemini centre and the Sea Towers block in Gdynia. The office block will have 11 storeys and 11,500 sq m of office space. On the ground floor it will house cafés and restaurants. The building will meet the requirements of the BREEAM certification system, which will confirm eco-friendly and energy efficient solutions employed in the construction.
The investment project has been prepared for several years, so we were very glad to receive the construction permit for the first phase. The complex will be erected in undoubtedly the most famous and presentable part of Gdynia. This is why we designed the public space with great care and used the asset of the location, which is the vicinity of water. We are sure that the citizens of Gdynia will like the project. – says Roger Andersson, Country Manager Poland at SwedeCenter.
The complex was designed by the FORT studio in Gdańsk. The general contractor is PORR Polska.
Peter Hartmann, member of the board at PORR Polska, said: - PORR (Polska) and SwedeCenter has signed another (after Business Garden in Poznań) jobbing & construction contract, with great joy and hopes for a joint success. We are positive that our return to Nabrzeże Prezydenta in Gdynia, where we conducted finishing works of cinemas in The Centre for Culture and Entertainment “Gemini” (2000) and the raw state of Sea Towers (2008), will be great success for us as the contractors, while the complex itself will become our signature on the Polish coast.
