Through the use of modern technologies, the energy use level in the building is going to drop by at least 50% compared to other buildings fulfilling Polish standards. It is exactly thanks to those factor that the office building Atrium 1 on Jana Pawła II alley, near Rondo ONZ in Warsaw, is considered to be the most green in this part of Europe.
Last friday a first important ceremony, laying the foundation stone, took place on the construction site of this office building, which is going to supply the market with 18 000 m2 of rent area. The erection act has been signed by Michał Olszewski, Warsaw's Vice President, Nicklas Lindberg, president of Skanska Commercial Development Europe, Waldemar Olbryk, president of Skanska Property Poland and Krzysztof Andrulewicz, president of Skanska S.A.
- Atrium 1 is a unique investment, not only on our projects' map, but also on the map of office structures being erected in the entire Central-Eastern Europe. This project is very dear to us, since it perfectly represents our company's philosophy and the direction which we in Skanska are headed in. Construction of Atrium 1 is an another step on the course to modern sustainable construction and the answer for our clients' needs, both lessees and investors' - said during the ceremony Waldemar Olbryk, president of Skanska Property Poland.
The building is to be completed at the turn of 2013 and 2014. Atrium 1 has been designed by Biuro Projektów Kazimierski i Ryba sp. j., and its general contractor is Skanska SA.
