A series of free Sunday concerts of classical music in commercial space? Why not? The first free piano recital will be held in the Warsaw’s Koszyki Hall this Sunday.

The opening of the concert series "Classics at Koszyki Hall" will take place on December 3, 2017, at 3 p.m. The recital will be celebrated with the performance of Aleksandra Bobrowska, one of the laureates of International Cochran Piano Competition.

Many young talents and interesting personalities, including the pianists from the Frederic Chopin University of Music, are to perform within the series of “Classics at Koszyki”. The live performances will be held every week at specified hours at 3 p.m. Koszyki Hall will become the first commercial place in Poland where concerts of classical music will be held every Sunday – says Paweł Konarski, Hall Manager at Koszyki Hall.

The originator of the series of concerts is Julian Cochran Foundation (JCF). The main goal of this organization is to change the way classical music is perceived by using innovative technologies and business activation to co-create modern solutions in the field of culture. We would like to change the perception of classical music, to popularize the participation in concerts, and to open up to new recipients – says Jakub Fiebig, Director of JCF Foundation. The Foundation cooperates with Yamaha Music Europe. Therefore, the pianists have an access to professional equipment and the opportunity to practice for free in the head office of JCF at Koszyki Hall.

Sunday piano recitals will be held in Koszyki Hall. It is a unique office and commercial project which originated basing upon the architectural concept from the beginning of the 20th century. The complex comprises of market hall where numerous restaurants and office premises are located.
