An official opening of the installation whose author is Marek Sułek – “Plant a Flower for Warsaw” – will be held on 1 August, that is on the next Tuesday, on the area of the Banking and Financial Center “Nowy Świat.” Additionally, there will be also a screening of “Stones for the Rampart.”
The first part of the commemoration, that is the opening of the installation – “Plant a Flower for Warsaw” – is planned on 4 p.m. It will be held on the square of CBF from Jerusalem Avenues. The sculpture is a huge red rock which symbolizes the ruins of rebellious Warsaw. Its shape refers to one of the elements of the capital ruins whereas its color refers to both national colors and the bloodstained city. The upper part of this sculpture comprises hundreds of small white flowers which are the symbol of good and hope – says Marek Sułek, the author of this installation.
The organizers prepared an exterior screening of the film directed by Robert Gliński “Stones for the Rampart.” It tells the story about three secondary-school graduates in Warsaw, who are about to start their adult life. However, their plans come to grief due to the outbreak of World War Two. The screening will be held in a specially arranged summer cinema on the courtyard of the “Nowy Świat” Banking and Financial Center at Nowy Świat 6/12 in Warsaw. The screening will begin at 9 p.m.
“Nowy Świat” SA Banking and Financial Center is the owner of the 7-tier “Nowy Świat” Banking and Financial Center and the modern office Nowy Świat 2.0. What is more, it is the dominant shareholder of the Stock Exchange Center SA – a company which is the co-owner of the office and service complex “Stock Exchange Center” in Warsaw, where Warsaw Stock Exchange and Central Securities Depository of Poland are located.
