Owners of companies and their proxies may establish, adjourn, reopen and implement changes (e.g. a company's address) or terminate business activity via electronic way through CEIDG. Additionally, there is no need for issuing paper certificates, which confirm the running of a business activity, thanks to a public and electronic register of entrepreneurs. The number of active entries in the CEIDG register amounted to 2 069 460 on 5th November 2015.
Moreover, the ePK Point of Single Contact was established within the CEIDG project. It offers guidebooks and descriptions of procedures which are crucial at establishment, running, adjourning or termination of a business activity in the country. Furthermore, the ePK Point of Single Contact introduces principles of providing services on the area of the European Union as well as information concerning acceptance of occupational qualifications. The website of ePK makes all data of public institutions, informative materials and free e-learning training courses (ePK Academy) available.
The leader of the project – the Ministry of Economy – is responsible for the CEIDG project in cooperation with the National Chamber of Commerce and the Institute of Logistics and Warehousing.
