Since the times of the crisis the capital city of Lesser Poland (Małopolska) is the best developing city in Europe – shows the report by Brookings Metropolitan Policy Program. The city is on the 38th position among 150 large cities from around the world, which makes it the highest ranked European city. The no. 56 is Warsaw.
According to analysts, the most dynamic regions are China, India, Southeast Asia and Latin America. The leader became Istanbul.
The report features the economic situation between years 1993-2010. Cities were evaluated on the basis of GVA (gross value added) not including taxes and extra charges. This list is prepared since 1996 by London School of Economics and Political Science and The Brooking Institutions.
