Voivodship Entrepreneurship and Business Centre will be located in the villa and nearby factory on Narutowicza 34 Street. Here, there will be seats of business-related institutions as well as associations, foundations and organisations working for the development of entrepreneurship in the region. The investment’s value was estimated at 7.7 million zloty net.
On Wednesday, 26 February 2014, there was the ceremony of laying the foundation act for the construction of the investment. The event was attended, among others, by marshal of the Łódź Voivodship, Witold Stępień, deputy marshal Dorota Ryl and the member of the management board Marcin Bugajski.
The centre is the investment by Łódź Regional Development Agency (Łódzka Agencja Rozwoju Regionalnego - ŁARR). The project is supported by Łódź Voivodeship, by capitalising the company and financing from the EU funds. Apart from ŁARR headquarters, taking up about 3200 sq. m available, the following entities will be located in the revitalised buildings: Łódź Business Incubator, New Technologies Cluster and Voivodoship Cluster Centre. There will be also Business Link, Łódź Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Business Center Club and other organisations supporting the development of business in the region.
It is the beginning of a larger project. Here, there will be a place for institutions - incubators of new companies. Also other towns in the region are interested in similar initiatives, though not on a large scale. These include Zduńska Wola, Wieluń and Pabianice, said the marshal Witold Stępień.
Dariusz Żuk, the head of Academic Business Incubator “Business Link” was one of the representatives of such an incubator. As he said: We operate in six cities in Poland, offering beginner companies free accounting, legal advice as well as trips to Silicon Valley in the USA or to Shanghai.
We create a specific business centre for Łódź Voivodeship, where all people who are crazy about entrepreneurship and business can find their place, summed up the president of ŁARR, Przemysław Andrzejak.
Skanska is responsible for renovation and adaptation works. The investment began with demolishing the buildings on Narutowicza Street. At the same time, we deal with construction works, says Adam Motyl, Project Manager, Skanska. We have already finished construction works in the warehouse and we are preparing for finishing works. Construction works are in progress in the factory - we made three reinforced concrete ceilings there. Now, we replace the ceiling above the third floor. There is only one ceiling and timber roof truss left to do. We made the ceiling of the first floor in the connector, while the construction works on the ceiling of the second floor are in progress. Next, we will work on the superstructure of the second floor. In March, we will start renovation works on the factory’s facade. We finished the demolition works in the villa. Historic stuccos are discovered. Renovation works and interior design will be started after receiving the project agreed upon by the City Historic Preservation Officer. Currently, we are working on renovating the historic woodwork. We have begun installing power system and sanitary installation in all buildings, tells Adam Motyl.
The renovation is to be completed by the end of 2014.
