The conference "New Possibilities. The Grounds for Cooperation" took place on February 21st, along the opening ceremony of the Invest-Park Center office in Wałbrzych Special Economic Zone.
At the beginning of the meeting, Małgorzata Adamczyk –Foryś, the head of the Promotion Department, presented the WSEZ achievements in 2012 and laid out the plans for 2012. The participants found out also about the reasons for the newly introduced changes in WSEZ wordmark as well as the symbolism behind its graphic design, colours and the font. Małgorzata Adamczyk-Foryś presented also the contribution of the Zone to the issues concerning the local community. It consisted in supporting the cultural, sport and educational initiatives. The company alloted over 200.000 PLN for these purposes.
The Conference, held during the opening of the building, followed the pattern of a discussion panel. Some experts in the field of business and economy shared their experience and opinions. Among those who took the floor were: Joanna Bensz (a member of the Executive Board of PM Group Polska), Beata Tylman (head of the public service department in PricewaterhouseCoopers), Piotr Freyberg (the founder of the Polish M3 branch office), Marek Pasztetnik (the CEO of the Western Chamber of Commerce) and Grzegorz Grablewski (the Senior Manager of the Tax Advisory Department in Ernst&Young). The experts discussed various topics related to the functioning of Special Economic Zones, such as their influence on the development and perspectives of regions. Another issue which was raised was the economic crisis.
Prior to the opening ceremony of the Invest-Park Center office, its parameters and assets had been presented by Grażyna Cal, the head of the Investment Department. She also discussed the possibility of renting office space of the new building. The guest star of the ceremony was the singer and actress Olga Bończyk, whose performance added splendour to the event.
