Grupa BUMA, a Kraków-based developer, has finished ONYX office building, located in the south part of town, on Powstańców Śląskich 26 Ave. This is the fourth object of that type, completed by Grupa BUMA in the capital of Lesser Poland.
The construction of ONYX office building was finished after 12 months. The object is a four-storey building, B+ class, with 6,573 msq of space. It fits very well into its surroundings – it is located 300 metres from the Antoniego Matecznego Roundabout, on a crossing of transit roads to Warsaw and Zakopane and a exit road to A4 highway, city's bypass and Balice airport. It is a small, cosy building with interesting architecture – stresses Monika Franaszek from Grupa BUMA. – It has been leased by two companies: Electrolux and Skanska S.A.
The main tenant of the building is Electrolux (Electrolux Poland Sp. z o.o.), which leases 88% of space. In ONYX, the company created its Global Service Centre, specialising in services for the concern, such as accounting, IT, Manuals and Real Estates. Currently there are about 320 employees in Electrolux, and in the next two or three years, this number will go up to 500-550 people. As Marcin Trzaskowski, Administrative Director of Electrolux, notes, in near future we will welcome students, mainly of economic studies, who in addition to knowing English, will also have knowledge of some less popular languages (for example Hungarian, Finnish, Swedish or Danish). Recruitment interviews have been taking place everyday for the last three years.
Electrolux leases three storeys. Its office was previously located on Wadowicka street, in another office building of Grupa BUMA – Buma Square Business Park. The company has been working together with Grupa BUMA for almost four years. In September 2005 we started our activity in Kraków – describes Marcin Trzaskowski. – The centre's reputation is growing and finishing of this building is a solid proof of that. On Wadowicka we operated on about 2,200 m2, now we have 4,100 m2.
The other tenants of ONYX office building are Skanska S.A., leasing the fourth storey with 847 msq of space since November, and the operator of the restaurant, based on the ground floor and having 187 msq. In ONYX’s area there are parking lots: on the ground level with 114 spaces and underground with 42 spaces.
The object was designed by Kraków design studio MOFO ARCHITEKCI. ONYX’s architecture allows for the maximum amount of sunlight. The name of the building was not an accident. The facade has reflection and colour similar to that of a semi-precious onyx stone. The building is also distinguished by the terraces on third and fourth storeys, and the external lights.
Until now, Grupa BUMA has finished office investments, whose space for lease in total amounts to 55,000 msq(among others: Buma Square Business Park in Kraków, Rondo Business Park in Kraków). Additionally, Grupa BUMA has built over 1700 apartments and 270 detached houses.
