Oberthur Technologies R&D Poland, which is owned by French Group operating in the IT industry, rented 1772 sq. m in the renovated factory villa of Jakub Kestenberg located in Łódź at the end of March this year. The new tenant will move into the building situated at the verge of Nowe Centrum Łodzi and at the crossroads of Jaracza and Sterlinga Streets in June this year. The company will occupy the whole property. The fact of moving into Kestenberg’s Villa is exciting for us because it is one and only building – Adam Federowicz, Chairman of the Board of Oberthur Technologies R&D Poland, says. It is an architecturally beautiful and well-communicated building with inspiring post-factory interiors and all-around green areas – only 5 minutes by foot from the newly realized Łódź Fabryczna railway station. The removal also results from our dynamic increase in employment in the City of Łódź – Federowicz adds.
Both owner and investor of the renovation is Inwestor from Łowicz. We made a contribution in the form of substantial financial means and enormous efforts to revitalize Kestenberg’s Villa and meet high expectations of tenant. We also realized it with passion in order the building could serve as a headquarters of Oberthur and it could also be appreciated by inhabitants; constituting one of the business cards of Łódź – Janusz Mostowski, owner of Inwestor, says.
Oberthur was advised by Łódź department of Colliers International during the transaction. The renting of Kestenberg’s Villa by a leading company in the IT industry, that is Oberthur, shows that post-factory and often historical buildings which are characteristic for Łódź may be a perfect offer for companies that base on creativity such as IT companies which create software. Work environment in such office is special. However, preparation of space requires great openness of developer to the needs of tenant as well as perfect cooperation – Marcin Włodarczyk, Director of Łódź Department of Colliers International, says.
Development of Oberthur and renovation of Kestenberg’s Villa are positively judged by the local authorities of the City. We are glad about both dynamical increase of Oberthur in Łódź and perfect example of revitalization of the beautiful palace. The fact that another IT company decided to rent in Łódź is a signal for us that investors from the IT industry notice great potential in the city. Moreover, the fact that Oberthur decided to locate its headquarters in a place with such a special character shows that revitalization activities in the city make sense and bring expected results – Hanna Zdanowska, President of the City of Łódź, says.
Oberthur has been present on the market in Łódź for almost two years. It is engaged in research and development (R&D) and delivery of software for the biggest brands in the world.
