Well-Being Is What Matters
WELL Building Standard® is a certification system created by International WELL Building InsitituteTM, which concentrates only on health and well-being of its users. This system monitors all aspects related to building and its internal environment, which has a crucial impact on people. There are seven categories: air, water, nutrition, lighting, physical condition, comfort and mind. These are divided into 102 sub-categories that are assessed in every project.
The benefit of having such an office is convincing proof that company sets trends and truly takes care of health of their employees and guests. We hope that this achievement will popularize our idea in Poland and abroad – says Rick Fedrizzi, Chairman of International WELL Building InstituteTM.
Intelligent solutions
BuroHappold Poland is distinguished with WELL certificate at the Gold level. The company is located on the sixth floor of Spektrum Tower in Warsaw. The head office allows to take care of employees and thus there are less sick notes. This is a great asset from the perspective of organization. What's more, it’s quiet even though there are over 130 people working in the office. The limited noise was noticed by 66% of the employees, which constitutes a great challenge considering the location in the city center of Warsaw. Many employees appreciated the lighting quality at work stations.
The main goal is to eliminate possibly the largest number of microorganisms through a sanitation process. Due to the carbon dioxide sensors and the system of dynamic air distribution, the air is always directed at a place with the largest number of people at a given moment. Air quality was also improved by finishing materials that characterize with the low volatile organic compounds (VOCs) emission. Many elements of the previous design were used to transform the office, which is definitely a pro-ecological solution.
