According to data prepared by ABSL, there are currently 244 000 experts in business services centers in Poland. What is more, the employment in this sector should increase in the future. The number of the employed can reach 300 000 by the end of 2020, that is exactly as much as in business services centers in Great Britain. These companies are going to need new office areas, which means further dynamic market growth – says Jakub Sylwestrowicz, Head of Tenant Representation Department, JLL.
When it comes to the lease volume of office space, big agglomerations such as Krakow, Wrocław and Tricity are still in the cutting edge. However, smaller cities also actively compete for investors. Smaller centers such as Szczecin, Lublin or Bydgoszcz, which offer competitive costs and, often, greater availability of qualified personnel, compete for global investors more and more intensively. One of the examples is the recent decision of Uber on launching a business support center in Lublin as well as lease contract of ATOS which operates in Bydgoszcz – says Jakub Sylwestrowicz.

The dynamic development of business services sector in Poland contributes to some changes in office space. The modern offices have to fully respond to the needs of employees from the BPO/SSC industry. At present, one of the most important recruitment tools is office. It should respond to the needs of younger and younger generations of employees who are adept at modern technologies and who are open to innovations and creative solutions. Thereby, office space should be designed in such a way to combine different work styles of the team and respond to the expediencies. Employers from the modern business services sector create different zones in their offices for the purposes of brain storms, official meetings, work in concentration or relaxation. What is more, they put greater and greater emphasis on the surroundings and non-business functions. Companies assume that office complex is one of the most important image tools – explains Anna Bartoszewicz-Wnuk, Director of Consultancy Department for Work Place, JLL.
