Next edition of the event called "Get rid of redundant kilowatts" will be held from 18th till 22nd April this year on the initiative of eight companies operating in the commercial property market (CBRE, Cushman & Wakefield, Grupa Capital Park, JLL, Knight Frank, NAI Estate Fellows, Savills and Skanska) as well as BYŚ, which provides the waste disposal. An e-waste collection will be held in the capital and it will include worn electric and electronic equipment such as computers, telephones, TV sets, batteries, accumulators, audio equipment and other similar devices powered by current or battery controlled. The income from utilization of the collected equipment will be donated to a charity.
Specially designed containers will be present in the Warsaw structures during the event and employees of the buildings which participate in this initiative will have a chance for getting rid of e-waste. There will be also educational actions propagating pro-ecological approaches among tenants of structures as well as co-workers within the event. The income from sales of e-waste will be donated to the Educational and Therapeutic Recreation Room „Smurfy” in Pisz.
We combine education in the area of ecology with charitable activity within the event "Get rid of redundant kilowatts" and we donate all the means from recycling to support a commonly chosen beneficiary. This year's fourth edition has a broader scale, thanks to the fact of joining new companies from the real estate industry. We will clear almost 70 commercial properties from e-waste together with tenants – Anna Podgórska, Chairman of PR and Marketing Department of Knight Frank, says.
Jointly almost 9 tons of e-waste were collected last year within the initiative "Get rid of redundant kilowatts". Thanks to recycling of waste, we managed to reduce 34 000 kg of CO2 emission, that is exactly the amount of CO2 coming to the atmosphere by consumption of 9452 l of fuel or the consumption of energy by a 42-cale LCD TV turned on during 69 years and 2 months.
