Blue support

The event Light It Up Blue for people with autism will be held on 1st and 2nd April this year. It will be supported by international companies operating in the real estate industry.

The event Light It Up Blue will be held on 1st and 2nd April this year and it will be supported by 9 international companies operating in the real estate industry such as CBRE, Colliers International, Cushman & Wakefield, NAI Estate Fellows, Heitman, JLL, Knight Frank, Kulczyk Silverstein Properties and Savills. The event is a global action, which has been organized since 2011 by American organization Autism Speaks. In Poland this initiative is spread by SYNAPSIS Foundation. It consists in expressing solidarity with people suffering from autism through lighting up public and commercial institutions blue. More than 85 buildings in the whole country will be lighted up on 1st and 2nd April. These will include e.g. Green Wings, Senator, Trinity Park III, Plac Zamkowy, Ethos, Golden Terraces (Złote Tarasy), Warsaw Trade Tower or Marynarska Business Park.

While lighting up the buildings which are managed by us and while wearing blue clothes on 1st and 2nd April, we will express solidarity with people suffering from autism, encouraging them in every day struggling with effects of disability – Anna Podgórska, Director of PR and Marketing of Knight Frank Poland, says on behalf of participants of the event.

Real estate properties will support SYNAPSIS Foundation in three ways within "Month of knowledge about autism":

  • WE SHINE – blue illumination in more than 85 office and warehouse buildings as well as commercial centers in Poland will be turned on 1st and 2nd April from 6 p.m. till midnight
  • WE EDUCATE – employees of companies participating in the event will distribute materials concerning autism prepared by SYNAPSIS Foundation
  • WE SUPPORT – partners of the event will encourage to grant 1 per cent of tax or donation for diagnosis and therapy of charges of SYNAPSIS Foundation

Autism is still a mysterious brain disorder. Although it is the most commonly appearing development disorders (it concerns one on 150 children in Poland as well as 1 per cent of humanity), the awareness of autism is still very low. We hope that the event Light It Up Blue will help others to understand and make them more sensitive to autism, and to enable people with autism living in our society – says Łukasz Kościuczuk, SYNAPSIS Foundation.
