The Ministry of Economy made a decision about including new areas into two economic zones – Łódź and Suwałki – on 20th October this year. The first of them was extended by 36 ha and the second one – by 259 ha.
Areas located in Łódź, Łęczyce, Kleszczów, Koluszki and Wieluń were included into the Łódź Special Economic Zone (ŁSEZ). In result, areas owned by this zone will include the area of over 1339 ha. New investments, the total value of which will amount to 504 million zlotys – were planned in Łódź on areas included in the zone. Thanks to their realization, 940 new work places will be created. Moreover, the including of private areas by ŁSEZ will allow to complete 4 investment projects launched by HTL-Strefa in Łęczyce, Epicom in Kleszczów, SuperDrob Zakłady Drobiarsko-Mięsne in Koluszki and Wielton in Wieluń which will contribute to increase in employment by 720 new people as well as maintenance of nearly 2 000 existing permanent posts.
Suwałki Special Economic Zone (SSEZ) will be extended by areas located in Suwałki, Grajewo, Białystok, Szczuczyn, Bielsk Podlaski, Siemiatycze, Czyżew, Hajnówka, Narewka, Nowogród and Sejny – all are situated on the area of three voivodships – Mazovian, Podlaskie and Warmian-Masurian. The expansion of the zone is aimed at creation of proper conditions for realization of innovative investments directed at export production. Thanks to new projects, nearly 8720 work places may be created in the nearest years. The area of the zone will amount to 635 ha after envisaged changes.
