A ceremony during which the Science and Technology Park was granted the SOOIPP certificate was held in Białystok on 20th October this year. It is a distinction which confirms meeting of all standards settled for innovation centers. The Science and Technology Park in Białystok is the first institution in Eastern Poland which received the certificate of the Polish Business and Innovation Centers Association. We examined the whole documentation during conducting an audit and we became acquainted with the activity of the Park, we talked to some residents, we gained knowledge about functioning of the Park and thus we conveyed some guidelines to the chairman concerning complementation of this activity. I have to emphasize that after realization of the whole recommendation pointed out in the audit's assessment, the Management Board of the Association made a decision about granting a certificate to BPN-T which confirms the meeting of environmental standards concerning functioning of technological parks at their development stage – said Marzena Mażewska, chairman of the board in SOOIPP during the ceremony.
The Science and Technology Park in Białystok supports development of undertakings based on modern technologies and helps in gaining investors. The infrastructure of BPN-T includes buildings of Technology Incubator and Technology Center. The Park offers e.g. modern office area for rent, access to modern infrastructure and support for start-ups to its tenants. At present, there are ca. 50 companies (from the ICT sector as well as automatics and robotics, electronics, e-marketing, mobile applications, e-commerce, telecommunications or computer graphics), whose activity is based on modern technologies.
It is worth mentioning that one of the activities of the Science and Technology Park in Białystok is running a co-working zone which is located at Sienkiewicza 9 Street in Białystok.
