STRABAG Real Estate GmbH (SRE) built the cornerstone into its first project in Poland – ASTORIA Premium Offices. The foundation act was signed by Deputy President of Warsaw – Jarosław Jóźwiak, Managing Director in SRE – Thomas Hohwieler, person responsible for the project – Michael Markart, representative of the general contractor – STRABAG Sp. z o.o. and Chairman in Department for Warsaw and Eastern Region – Jarosław Pelc.
The ceremony was held in the representative part of the building – that is on the ground floor at rotunda of the office. The scenery of the event referred to ecological elements which emphasized character of the building which is currently being realized. While building ASTORIA, we made the first step on the Polish market and realized a local project team. Therefore, I am glad that we have an occasion to work at our project in such a special place and thus contribute to development of the city center of Warsaw. We also hope that it will be a successful beginning of our activity in Poland because we are planning to extend it in the future. Moreover, we are convinced that Poland will become one of our main markets – said Thomas Hohwieler, Managing Director in SRE.
First and foremost, the architecture of the building will draw attention thanks to a representative and modern façade made from glass, metal and stone. At the same time, ASTORIA signs itself into the surroundings owing to softly pointed out stylish elements referring to adjacent buildings. The office is almost fully glazed from the Palace of Culture and Science and it is distinguished by a midtown style with characteristic windows from East. Therefore, the building completes the present appearance of Szpitalna Street and constitutes an extension of structures which are located at Warsaw Uprising Square – explains Michael Markart, investor responsible for this project in SRE.
The general contractor of STARBAG Sp. z o.o. is realizing the building of the office in accordance with the schedule. The 10-tier structure with the total area of 18 200 sq. m is being realized at Przeskok 2 Street between the business center and the Old Town. The structure will receive the LEED ecological certificate on the Gold level. The completion of the investment is planned on the first half of 2016.
