During the real property fair in Cannes a project by Arkadiusz Nagięcia, an architect from Katowice, became the biggest hit of Cracow’s stand. The design of two, over three hundred metres high, towers became so popular that one of the companies wants to build them in Cracow. The cost of the high-rise buildings alone is estimated at 2,500,000,000 PLN – informs “Dziennik Polski”. Buildings are planned to accommodate office surfaces, service surfaces and on the last floors apartments.
The investor owns a 10 ha plot at convergence of A4 motorway, which is located 9 km from the city centre of Cracow. However, land development study does not allow for construction of skyscrapers. The original plan was to set such a zone in Zabłocie district, which in turn sparked protests.
The discussion on the matter of setting a new zone, where high-rise buildings would be constructed, has been undertaken. At the moment, the tallest building in Europe is located in Moscow and is 306 metres high.
