Making Cracovia the part of the Register of Historical Monuments became the kick starting moment sparked by the Krakow’s president to add next buildings that are worthy of conservator of monuments’ protection. Jacek Majchrowski, president of Cracow, in his special announcement urged citizens to send to the town hall their suggestions of buildings that may qualify as monuments, especially if those that were built in accordance with principles of modernism – “Gazeta Wyborcza”.
The list that will be created upon gathering the citizen’s suggestions will undergo a process of consultations with town-planners, architects, art historians and conservators. Among Cracow’s contemporary buildings included in the list of the municipal conservator are Cracovia hotel, Kijow cinema, the former building of Centralny Zarząd Przemysłu Naftowego at Lubicz 25, Miastoprojekt office building at Kraszewskiego St, the mosaic at Biprostal office building, the church of Arka Pana.
The municipal monument conservator asked the Little Poland Conservator to include these building into the Province’s records of monuments. Incorporation into the province’s list will allow for introduction of records into land utilization plans.
