For the first time in three years time the percentage of unrented office spaces in United States have decreased – informs “Home Broker daily”. At the same time, the rent rates have increased. It is interpreted as a sign of overcoming the crisis in the commercial segment.
According to Reis in the first quarter the percentage of vacant spaces dropped symbolically, from 17.5 per cent to 17.6 per cent in the last 3 months of 2010. In the second quarter the rental asking prices as well as the effective cost increased.
On the other hand, CBRE’s initial data, on behalf of CB Richard Ellis Group, indicated at the percentage of unrented offices to remain at the level of 16.5 per cent. The best situation is in in Washington, D.C. and New York where the percentage amounts to 9.2 per cent as well as 10.7 per cent, respectively. The worst situation is in Detroit and Phoenix – 26.6 per cent.
