Hotel Saski, after its renovation and expansion, is going to be turned into a luxurious class A office building.
According to “Gazeta Wyborcza” the prior controversial project included only 3 walls of the original building to be used. In spite of such drastic alterations of the architecture of the XIX century town house the conservator of monuments who was on duty at that time had given consent for almost complete demolition. However, it turned out that the building is in an acceptable condition and a new project was prepared.
The new elements that have been proposed in the current project, which was prepared by Henryk Łaguna, a MAAS employee, are elevation of the loft from the front, addition a new storey from the side of courtyard as well as creation of luxury offices situated on three floors. In addition, Allan Starski, a famous scenographer and an Oscar winner for “Schindler's List”, has prepared a design of cloister, making it more suitable for a public zone.
At the moment works inside and under the building, where 50 garage places are going to be situated, are being carried out. Offices should be available for rent at the autumn, 2012. The cost of the investment is estimated at 25 M. PLN. Michał Borowski, president of Plac Bankowy 1 company, is keeping an eye on this undertaking.
