IBM company expands the scope of operations in Poland. It is going to open a new Delivery Center (Centrum Dostarczania Usług) in Katowice.
The choice of Katowice for location of new IBM centre shows constant commitment of our company in Poland. The new center will not only enable us providing advanced services for our clients, but also contribute to increasing economic development and competence needed in the region. Katowice and Silesian region offer talented resources on labour market, strong academic resources and business-friendly environment, which is essential to our development – says Ales Bartunek, Country General Manager, IBM Poland and Baltics.
Additionally, the company will cooperate with local educational intitutions in supporting the development of talents and professional competence. The company will work with Silesian University of Technology, University of Silsesia (UŚ), University of Economics (UE) and Katowice School of Economics (GWSH) within the programme of student trainings.
We have already cooperated with IBM, among others at various programmes in corporate social responsibility, such as IBM Executive Service Corps. IBM's development in Katowice is a huge event for all of us. IBM's new premises are to be a part of strategic company centres' network, which offers wide range of IT services, including, among others, managing server operating systems, security and safety of systems, along with services for final customers. Delivery Center in Katowice will commence operational activity in August 2013.
Since 2009, when we have opened IBM Center in Wrocław, the scope of our service offer has increased siginificantly.
